The SNL is having a tremendous 2024 as a follow on to our Outstanding 2023 accomplishments.  Two SNL Board  Members and I attended the NL National Convention in San Diego where we were awarded Outstanding Council, Outstanding Adopted Unit Support and Gold Level for Social Media. We are one of 14 Outstanding Councils out of 180 world wide - Congratulations to all Savannah Navy Leaguers.

The May 17 SNL Golf Classic was a huge success and I need to highlight Tom Nichols and Nelson Rosado for the tremendous job they did organizing and managing the event.  Sponsors supported 17 active duty military teams which played for free.  The  event netted nearly $12,000 which will go along way towards supporting our many programs.  Our in house Graphic Artist Mick McCay and photographer Howard Hackney have submitted the new CG Marine Safety Unit 37' X 9.5' Mural to the command for approval.  I've seen the initial version and it is tremendous.  I'll forward it to all members when approved.
The CG Family Night at the Savannah Bananas is Friday, July19.  All tickets have been distributed with 233 going to our 6 CG adopted units.  As in the past, it should be a fun and exciting event.  
The SNL belongs to the Chatham County Veterans Council based on over 50% of our members having served in the military. As an active member of the organization, the SNL recently donated $1,000 to the Council towards paying off the WWII Memorial on River Street.  Per a SNL Board vote last year, we also purchased WWII Memorial Bricks for 4 SNL Members who passed away.  

We have a super Board of Directors but we could always use new ideas to make the SNL even better.  Please consider applying for an Officer or Director position when we announce the Nomination Committee later this year.  Contact me for information on Board responsibilities, meetings, etc.
